Courser of Kruphix is a 2/4 Green Enchantment Creature that lets you play the top card of your library if it’s a land and gives you 1 life whenever a land comes into play under your control. However, you must play with the top card of your library revealed.
This card makes a great combo with the following cards:
- Whisperwood Elemental: Whisperwood Elemental will manifest the top card of your library as a 2/2 face down creature at the end of your turn. If you want to rescue a land from being manifested, you can use Courser of Kruphix to put it into play.
- Sensei’s Divining Top: You can change the order of the top 3 cards on your library with this and force the top card to be a land so you can play it right away. Once your land is played, you can tap it to pay for the 1 colorless mana to use the Divining Top AGAIN to see if you’ve got yet another land in your top 3 cards. This can go on indefinitely until you have no lands in your top 3 cards.
- Thieving Magpie: If your opponent doesn’t have many flying creatures, you can damage your opponent with this to draw another card. This is especially useful if you’re also playing Blue and you’ve got a Whisperwood Elemental in play. Since Courser of Kruphix will let you see the top card and if it’s something you don’t wish the manifest the next turn, you can rescue it with the Magpie.
