Dragonlord Atarka: Damage as early as Day 1
Dragonlord Atarka is a Legendary Elder Dragon that costs 7 mana, 1 of which should be Red and 1 should be Green. As soon as it comes into play, it can deal a total of 5 damage to any number of creatures or planeswalkers your opponent controls. It’s also 8/8 and trample which means your opponent’s days are numbered unless he/she has equally powerful flying creatures to defend against this Elder Dragon or spells to mitigate it.

Example Combo
This isn’t the most mana efficient combo but it’s a way to thin the herd a bit if your opponent has a large army of 1/1 or other low-powered creatures in play. You’ll need White mana to play Enduring Renewal and have at least 2 Dragonlord Atarka’s in hand. With one Dragonlord in play, cast the 2nd one which will require you to kill one of the Dragonlords since they’re Legends. Because of Enduring Renewal, that Dragonlord will go back into your hand and you can repeatedly deal 5 damage to any # of enemy creatures for 7 mana as long as you have the mana to spare.
If you just want to deal 5 damage to an enemy creature, a Disintegrate or multiple Lightning Bolts and/or Shocks will do. If you want to take out a bunch of 1/1 or small creatures, Earthquake or Pyroclasm will do. But if you need to forcibly take out a bunch of enemy creatures near the end of the game and have the mana to spare, this combo may be your only option.
Final Thoughts
Dragonlord Atarka is very powerful to say the least but is also quite mana efficient especially if you’re playing Red and Green. It’s straight up pure power with no other strings attached. To learn more, please head over to Amazon.com by following the button below!
