Anafenza, the Foremost is a 4/4 Legendary creature that costs just 3 total mana if you can manage to get your hands on a White, a Black, and a Green mana.  Every time Anafenza attacks, you get to put a +1/+1 counter on another tapped creature of yours (or 2 counters if you got Doubling Season in play.)  And also, every time an opponent’s creature would be put in his/her graveyard, it get exiled instead which makes it nearly impossible to return the creature back to play again.

Foiling Your Opponent

 

 

The ability to effectively “disable” your opponent’s graveyard, at least when it comes to creatures is one of the most useful abilities of this card.  If Anafrenza is on your sideboard, consider swapping it into your main deck if your opponent has any of the following cards:

 

• Rally the Ancestors
• All Hallow’s Eve
• Deathmist Raptor
• Den Protector
• Gravedigger
• or any card that can return creatures from the graveyard.
