Example Combo:

 

 

This is a bit risky to pull off if your opponent has counter spells or direct damage magic.  But you’ll most likely be fine if he/she is playing Green or White.  Here are the cards you’ll need:

 

• Secure the Wastes
• Channel (Green)
• Soul Warden (White)
• Optional: Doubling Season (Green)

 

First, make sure Soul Warden is in play before you begin this combo as it allows you to gain 1 life for every creature you put into play.  Make sure you have 2 green mana and 1 white mana available.

 

Then, pay 2 Green mana to play Channel which allows you to sacrifice 1 life to add 1 colorless mana to your mana pool.  You could sacrifice your life down to 1 but it can be risky if your opponent has cards in his/her hand which can counter your spells or deal direct damage, thus killing you off.  Sacrifice an amount of life you’re willing to risk based on the current circumstances in your game.

 

Finally, case Secure the Wastes using 1 White mana and all of the colorless mana in your mana pool.  You’ll gain back the lives you lost when you cast Channel when Soul Warden works its magic.  You’ll now have X new 1/1 creatures in play!  If you have a Doubling Season in play, you’ll actually gain X net life AND receive 2X token creatures!

 

You’ll need Green and White in your deck to pull this combo off but I suggest having some Blue for countermagic to make it more viable if your opponent tries to derail it when you’re very low on life.  (You may want to include a Noble Hierarch or two when playing such a tri-colored deck.)

 

 

Final Thoughts
