Gauntlet of Might: Mountain Madness
If you play a single-color red deck, you’re gonna want one of these! It’ll add +1/+1 to all of your red creatures AND allow your mountains to provide an extra red mana each time they’re tapped for mana. This card is even more overpowered these days (assuming you’re playing casually and not at a tournament) since Mana Burn is no longer a consideration, unlike when it first came out for Unlimited back in the late 20th century.
Note that this affects ALL red creatures and mountains regardless of ownership so think twice before deploying, especially in team games!
Watch the Gauntlet of Might in Action!
Here, I’m playing the computer using Forge and I draw 2 Gauntlets. I deploy them both along with a Goblin Tunneler and a Molten Ravager. Since the Molten Ravager was only 2/6 at the time, I used the Goblin Tunneler to make the Molten Ravager unblockable and then tapped all of my mountains to inflate my Molten Ravager all the way to 17/6. Needless to say, the opponent did not last very long afterwards.
The Verdict?
You might not be able to use the Gauntlet of Might in tournaments but it’s still pretty formidable to have in your red decks when playing casually with your friends. You can learn more about it from Amazon.com by clicking the button below.
