The Juzam Djinn is an excellent 5/5 black creature especially early in the game. It’s got a casting cost of only 4 which means you can deploy one on your second turn using a Dark Ritual. The obvious downside is that it’ll deal 1 point of damage to you every turn on your upkeep. If your opponent puts one of these in play, an effective strategy is to disable the Djinn instead of killing it using, say, a Gaseous Form enchamtment or a Meekstone artifact. That way, it’ll continue to dish a point of damage to your opponent each turn while making it useless for offensive or defensive purposes.

I’ve recorded a Youtube video below of me playing against the computer (via Forge.) I was getting my ass kicked until I managed to summon 3 Juzam Djinns and turn the tide around.
If you have an Eon Hub in play, all players will skip their Upkeep step which causes the Djinn to not deal 1 point of damage to you every single turn.
This is a bit of a risky card to have if you’re playing a prolonged game. But if you can manage to get one or more of these out early on, you can get a head start and put your opponent on the defensive right off the bat. This card is an excellent Collectible and you’ll find it on Amazon.com by clicking the button below!
